The little brother of well loved Wee Mongrel.
Blended Scotch whisky from two sherry butts with a high malt content.
We called it drookit dug because the abv has dropped a fair bit in a short time, it’s still cask strength but at the very approachable abv of 43.6%
This is just good honest sherried whisky. The kind of bottle to share with family or a few mates over a good old chin wag and a catch up.
A cask strength session dram.
These butts were filled in 2011 with the same blend of Scotch whiskies, we just mixed them together for bottling.
We often find these low abv heavy breathing casks to be excellent whisky. Rather than acheiving a reduction in abv by dilution, casks that drop like this on their own have a great texture with no dilution of flavour and greater maturity.
Natural Colour, non chill filtered and cask strength as you would expect from one of our releases.
Only 509 bottles were produced.
Colour – Vimto (the less cheeky kind)
Nose – Marmalade, bay leaves and candy floss.
Palate – Bread and butter pudding, Alpine strawberries and Turkish Delight.
Finish – Hot chocolate with marshmallows on toasting sticks.
There may be some natural sediment present as we chose to only lightly filter our casks and preserve the full flavour and mouth feel of the whisky.
