Never judge a book by its cover, or a whisky by its label… On paper this sounds like any other blended Scotch whisky. Aged 10 years bla bla bla.
But
This is made differently. A vatting of casks where the abv dropped naturally. Our cask strength session dram.
The depth and interest of a cask strength whisky but with an approachable abv.

This is sharing whisky. Well we like to think all whisky is sharing whisky, but we made this whisky for those moments, a group of friends round a table/campfire/bothy moments.  We are so fortunate to have been spoiled over the years with some truly incredible whiskies, but our best whisky memories are more about the people we were with at the time and we just wanted to make great whisky to go with those moments.
A cask strength session dram, made using stock from casks with a lower abv and blended without dilution meaning much more texture and complexity from a lower, more approachable abv.

One of our most popular whiskies, this is the exact same parcel of stock as before but it’s been gently ticking along in some pretty quiet wood for another year so the age statement is now 10 years. We didn’t want the profile to change a lot as we were already really happy with it. Think honey on buttered toast, we hate the expression “smooth” but you know what we mean! Fresh, elegant and unpretentious. It’s been fun to see this whisky evolve, bottled at 8, then 9 and now 10 years. It’s become a little richer and toastier and now this is the final release of these casks.

It’s unlikely we’ll be able to repeat a blend like this any time soon, and for the sake of our finances we hope we don’t get too many parcels of very low fill, low abv casks! And so this is the final batch of the vatting that really has gained some attention from whisky drinkers around the world. People who understand exactly what this whisky is for and value it beyond the headline numbers. A cask strength session dram, whisky for sharing. The depth and interest of cask strength whisky but at a much more approachable abv. We did joke, and maybe we’ll still do this, that we should release a batch with champagne corks, because you really don’t expect to put the cork back in the bottle once you open it…

A mixture of malt and grain, first and second fill bourbon and sherry casks. We even bunged in a little 40 year old grain because we were having fun and got carried away. 10 years is just the minimum age.

The kind of whisky to share with friends, enjoyable for us whisky nerds and approachable for the whisky curious, a dram for all!

Drookit because the abv is lower and definitely not a tasting note!

COLOUR: Gold Medal
NOSE: Muscat grapes, toasted brioche, pineapple cubes
PALATE: Buttered toast, cookie dough, beeswax
FINISH: Carnation milk, candy floss, runny honey
