Curiosity brought us to rum. We felt there must be more to this spirit than what we could see available in most bars. After some investigation we discovered what real rum is all about.
We treat rum with respect. We will never allow the addition of colouring of flavouring. Like whisky we speak with the distillers, we choose single casks that have character and with origins that excite us. We age them and we blend them. Our goal with blending was to create a rum that would act as a gateway into the spirit for whisky drinkers. We achieved that with our Wee Mongrel Blended Rum.
Like our whiskies, sometimes we find a particularly special cask that deserves the spotlight, so we’ll bottle it as a single cask. When rum is given the same respect as whisky, spectacular spirits can emerge. A carefully selected single cask rum is one of life’s pleasures, well worth your time discovering.

Wee Mongrel Blended Rum
This is our gateway rum for whisky drinkers. It takes years to learn about whisky, you never stop learning, so the prospect of getting as into a whole new spirit category,
one that really spans the globe, with a massively diverse range of production methods can be a little daunting. Our Wee Mongrel Rum is blended in the same way we would blend a whisky, only using excellent cask matured stock, building balance and complexity. Not too sweet, funky enough to
keep things interesting and rum that deserves to be enjoyed as you would enjoy a whisky, ie.. not in a coconut with little umbrellas and fruit juice.
Our Wee Mongrels (named because they are a mixture of our Little Brown Dog single casks) are our very best blends, best casks, greatest ages and a name that people now
associate with very high quality.
